I have been in public safety most of my life with a deep passion for both fishing and photography. By day, I operate drones for Fannin County Emergency management Agency, and outside of work, I merge my love for the outdoors with creative storytelling through the lens.

Since 2018, I’ve had the privilege of working with NuCanoe, beginning as a contributing photographer and now serving as their in-house photographer and drone operator. I grew up fly fishing the cold, clear streams of North Georgia, which naturally evolved into a career in guiding. Today, I also own and operate BR Charters in Blue Ridge, Georgia, where I guide anglers across the region’s pristine waters.

Trout fishing remains at the heart of my passion, but I also spend time pursuing smallmouth bass and chasing saltwater species like tarpon, snook, and redfish. Whether in mountain streams or coastal flats, NuCanoe kayaks have proven to be the perfect platform when I’m wanting to hit the water.

I started kayak fishing for the purpose of self care, as a way to relieve stress from my busy and demanding job as a social worker. Fishing became an outlet for me for self care and the passion and love for fishing and kayak fishing grew from there. I live in Louisville, Ky with my beautiful wife and two sons. I look forward to those warm spring/summer days where my son and I can pack up the Unlimited and hit the lake. 

I also find joy in other people’s success and I always try to find the positive energy in any situation. 

I really enjoy sharing my journey with others and hope they can experience what I love about kayak fishing. Of course I ended up participating in kayak tournaments. But, if you ask me what I love most about this sport, it’s seeing the raw emotion when someone takes their first float in a kayak, seeing one of my buddies catch a GIANT bass, or even seeing one of my buddies finish very well in a kayak tournament. I truly love seeing others success and rooting them on. I get totally pumped for them.

Retired army combat veteran and founder of Veterans Kayak Fishing USA.. I grew up in Georgia and from the time I could run all I ever wanted to do was fish. From ponds to rivers and lakes you could find me throwing a line on any body of water. I always had a passion fro outdoors and it grew even more as i got older. After my time in the service I was missing something and just could not get out of the rut. A friend of mine knew I was struggling and asked me to go fishing with him but in a kayak. I thought to myself he must be nuts to think I would do that . Long story short it was the best thing to ever happen to me. I fell in love with the outdoors again. My wife said to me that it was so good to see me happy and enjoying outdoors again. Well that is how Veterans Kayak Fishing USA was formed. We started a nonprofit to help others by getting them off the couch and out in nature. We only use nucanoe Kayaks for all our outings since they are so dependable. Today we are doing what we dream of by helping others .

I think what I bring to the table is team work. Everything has purpose in life. Bringing energy to those in the community to understand what Nucanoe really is. It is more than just kayaks but having relationships and sharing adventures in the great outdoors. Building friendships and watching it grow as you take people out on the water. I always say that I do not think I have ever met a stranger. Taking the time to tell your story and how you ended up in a kayak can go a long ways.. Our mission in life is to help others and that is what nucanoe does every time someone gets in a kayak. I am there to cheer them on.
